Looked at the local lo-mile car. Rode ok, but went back a second time and brought it to Chips. Long story short, car was overheating bad and had cooked coolant seals. Had another fail out of state. Also saw a car on eBay that was a total fraud.

Looks like, at this time,  I'll be getting a car from Pettit. Rebuilt engine,  reliability mods, racing beat cat back, fresh paint.  More to come!

Did you pick up the FD?  I have been driving my black FD to work the last two weeks (Hall, 18.5, Mound area).  I saw a red FD down 18.5 mile at the end of last week., was it you?

I've been seeing a red FD quite a lot now, in the Troy area, almost daily.

Hi all! That has NOT been me driving in the Troy area.  It's another red FD apparently. And it's not the red FD that I looked at locally weeks ago (the one I passed on), as it was 100% stock, and from what was posted here, the Troy car is modified.

My car arrived late last week.  I have been sorting out a lot of little nits, and i am almost done. The seats look like crap, and need to be redone, someone tried to clean them, and did not realize that the PO had used dye on them, and it totally made a mess.  I found some premium black skins at a deal, so that will be my winter project.

Car is quick. Damn! That ain't your granny's FB.  Car came directly from Pettit Racing, and is a fresh engine rebuild. Everything mechanically has been gone through. All I need is for winter to hold off a little bit so i can drive it.

Beautiful car man! Any modifications done to it? Or is she 100% stock?

Looks great, now I want an FD again... actually I'll always want one. I better get working on my turbo swap for now.

That sucks about the seats, but at least it's nothing major. Let us know if you decide to take her out one of these days, I'm getting mine ready for storage right now, I wouldn't mind cruising though.

Thx for the kind words. This is my first FD, and it's a lot of fun so far!

Mods are Racing Beat cat back exhaust, K&N intake, Pettit downpipe to replace pre-cat, air pump delete, high flow turbos, bypassed pre-cat solenoids, Koyo radiator, Pettit coil overs. It also has a JDM remote for the door locks, which is pretty cool and old school.

I put on the wheels and tires, which are Nitto 555 235/40 front and 275/35 rear. Wheels are from Traklite out of Miami, the "Holeshot" model, in 18x8.5 /9.5 sizes.

There's a huge Sony Xplod stereo system in the car, which i may strip down a bit. Two big amps in the trunk, along with a big subwoofer in a cabinet.  Lose my trunk but the sound is damn deep and powerful!

Sounds like a plan!  I have a project this weekend... the worst part of the car are the seats, which are beat to hell.

I have replacement leather skins on the way; a member at RX7Club has family in Italy that is in the leather business, and he sources custom skins from them.  I'll be replacing the tan seats with black leather. Carpet will remain tan, and all the plastics are already black today.
