Deals Gap Rotary Rally: Anyone going?
« on: January 20, 2011, 03:53:05 PM »
I've been to this event for the last two years and wouldn't miss it for the world.  I highly recommend it.  It takes place in North Carolina, last weekend of April.  Details can be found at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Just curious if anyone else is planning to attend...

I would love to go but I don't think my car will be tested enough by then.  Excellent driving from what I hear.

I drive out there twice a year. I recommend it for anyone! Unless you don't like the idea of 318 curves in 11 miles with many other roads around to have fun on also.
If anyone is going let me know.
I am going on Thursday and coming back on Tuesday.

Hopefully my Austin 1100 is ready for next year, cause that would be a hoot.

i may be able to depending on how work pans out, went last year in the fall, when all the leaves where falling. real cool.

i just wish i had a sicky cam, or at least something besides a camera phone.

id go again with other people, if they actually go. its like a 11+ hour drive straight shot, but you miss some really cool shit in central PA, in a super low key town with no law enforcement.

not trolling

I'm staying in Gatlinburg. 8hrs awy from the D. 45min drive through the mountains to Deals Gap.
If anyone wants to go and needs lodging, let me know.
I have a place with Bluegreen called the Treetops in Gatlinburg. It's real nice.
I have enough points for any other ballers.

Link if anyone's interested. Take a look.

I'm glad to see some people thinking about going.  :)  I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I, on the other hand, have had to make a change of plans.  Instead of attending DGRR, I will be heading down to Atlanta for the Mitty event.  Thier focus is on Mazda this year, and Jim Downing will be there.  Three days of camping on the infield of the race track with a bunch of other RX7 owners, with lots of racing events going on.  They are also letting us do some high speed parade laps on the track, which I hear is a lot of fun.

I may spend Friday at DGRR, then head to Atlanta either that night or early next morning.  Not sure yet.  I still may join up with a caravan for most of the journey, but on the other hand I might leave as early as Wednesday and take my time going down.

Here is a link that talks about both events.  They are planning a cruise from DGRR Sunday morning, down to the Mitty event.  They have also worked out special ticket pricing.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
